Biography

This presentation will discuss initial findings from an ongoing research study on intimate partner homicide (IPH) in the United States, focusing on how legal, social, and judicial systems handle these cases. It will include preliminary findings from a systematic review of global IPH prevention policies and interviews with professionals working in the the legal judicial and social service sectors.

Michelle Hugill is a researcher focusing on gender studies, masculinities, and violence against women based in Santa Catarina, Brazil. My work in the Santa Catarina State Court of Justice explores the intersections of power, identity, and social structures, with a focus on the cultural and systemic dimensions of gender-based violence.
