Patrick Sullivan
Professor
Faculty, Epidemiology
Secondary Appointment, Global Health

I am an infectious disease epidemiologist. I trained as a veterinarian, completed a bench science PhD, and then trained in field epidemiology in the CDC's Epidemic Intelligence Service. I am board-certified in Veterinary Preventive Medicine and the ACVPM Epidemiology subspecialty. I am a Fellow of the American College of Epidemiology.
I worked at the CDC for 14 years in public health surveillance programs and have been at Emory in the Rollins School of Public Health since 2008. My work at Emory focuses on HIV and STI prevention and spans several areas of public health sciences, from surveillance and data visualization to intervention development and implementation. I am the Principal Scientist of AIDSVu.org, a public health data visualization portal.
My most important contributions to public health are realized through the earlier career colleagues I have had the privilege of working with during their training. I have chaired 71 MPH committees and 20 Doctoral committees, mentored 4 CDC EIS officers, and mentored 7 postdoctoral fellows. I am grateful for the chance to spend time with these amazing public health scientists.
My Emory faculty profile is available here; CV, with a full list of trainees and publications, is available here.
