As part of Rollins’ commitment to community engaged learning, every Rollins student participates in a morning of service around metro Atlanta at fall orientation during “Rollins-Teer Day.”
This designated volunteer day gives students the chance to work with local charities and to take an active approach to public health from day one. Designated as a President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll winner on multiple occasions, Rollins-Teer Day brings together more than 500 students, staff, and faculty to more than 25 charities and organizations in the community each year.
Rollins-Teers serve the community in various ways, such as:
- Preparing meals for people living with HIV/AIDS
- Repairing senior citizens' homes
- Preparing boxes of medical supplies
- Cleaning streams and parks
