Admission Requirements

In addition to the SOPHAS application, all applicants will need to submit the following materials when applying to Rollins:

  • College transcripts
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Personal statement
  • Resume
  • Average GPA of 3.32
  • MPH Average GRE score of 155 Verbal, 155 Quantitative, and 4.05 Analytic Writing. PLEASE NOTE: The submission of GRE scores are optional for all candidates applying to MPH and MSPH programs for fall 2025 admission.  However, you can submit scores for review if you took the GRE.

HPM applicants should also possess strong quantitative skills. 

The HPM Committee reviews approximately 400 applications each fall. Student applications are reviewed using a holistic approach.

Degree Requirements

42  credit hours, and successful completion of an applied practice experience and an  integrative learning experience. This 42-credit-hour MPH program is offered as both a traditional, four-semester format, and as an accelerated 12-month format.

Applied Practice Experience

All Rollins MPH/MSPH students are required to complete an applied practice experience (APE). An APE provides students the opportunity to integrate and apply the knowledge and skills gained through their coursework at Rollins in a professional public health environment. The intent is for students to have a variety of experiences in different public health environments while in graduate school, such as government, non-government, nonprofit, industry, for-profit, and appropriate university-affiliated settings involving community engagement.

Specifically, the APE is a significant educational experience that requires a minimum of 200 hours in a public health agency, institution, or community under the supervision of a Field Supervisor. The Field Supervisor is a public health professional or qualified staff person at the APE site and who can evaluate student attainment of relevant competencies, learning objectives, required deliverables, and overall work performance.
