The MPH in health policy is designed to provide students with a broad understanding of how federal, state, and local policies shape the U.S. health-care system. In addition to core courses, students in this program take a concentrated set of courses in a particular field (e.g., vulnerable populations, health outcomes). Graduates are well qualified to practice in the private health-care industry, nonprofit sector, and government.

Admission Requirements
In addition to the SOPHAS application, all applicants will need to submit the following materials when applying to Rollins:
- College transcripts
- Two letters of recommendation
- Personal statement
- Resume
- Average GPA of 3.32
- MPH Average GRE score of 155 Verbal, 155 Quantitative, and 4.05 Analytic Writing. PLEASE NOTE: The submission of GRE scores are optional for all candidates applying to MPH and MSPH programs for fall 2025 admission. However, you can submit scores for review if you took the GRE.

HPM applicants should also possess strong quantitative skills.
The HPM Committee reviews approximately 400 applications each fall. Student applications are reviewed using a holistic approach.

42 credit hours and successful completion of an applied practice experience and an integrative learning experience.
Applied Practice Experience
All Rollins MPH and MSPH students are required to complete a 200-400 hour Applied Practice Experience (APE). The APE can be completed in one semester or spread over two or more semesters. This practical experience is designed to enhance the student’s understanding and application of knowledge and research findings to public health settings by providing an opportunity to gain practical experience. Public health work environments include advocacy groups, medical care delivery organizations, municipal and state health departments, and federal agencies such as the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Integrative Learning Experience - Capstone
The capstone is an integrative learning experience which bring together the practical skills learned throughout their coursework.
